Thomas Campbell’s new film “The Present”

Thomas Campbell, hipster-savant of west coast surf art, begins touring his new film, “The Present” this March, hitting San Francisco on the weekend of March 27-28. The film is a follow-up to his releases “The Seedling” (1999) and “Sprout” (2004). Campbell’s artistic and philosophical style contrasts the paradigm of low-fi, quick cut surf films that have dominated the surf film-video genre since Taylor Steele’s release of “Momentum” in 1991. The cast features a wide-range of surfers from cross-steppers Kassia Meador and Alex Knost to new school proponents like Chelsea Georgenson Hedges and Ry Craike.

A Fly In The Champagne Premiere

A Fly in the Champagne: A Documentary Rooted in Rivalry, the latest surf movie from Irons Brothers Productions in collaboration with Billabong, Quiksilver, TransWorld SURF and ESPN will be premiered at theaters on both coasts of the United States over the next three weeks.

Come check out Andy Irons and Kelly Slater surf the perfect waves of the Kandui Surf Resort in the Mentawai Islands.

A Fly in the Champagne movie premiers will offer product giveaways from Billabong and Quiksilver. Plus, there is a possibility of one (or both) of the film’s stars showing up in person.

If you miss the premier, A Fly in the Champagne will be released on DVD on March 15, 2009.
